Sarchi Costa Rica Caterata del Toro
Catarata del Toro

Are both about an hour's drive from town - in different directions.

No question - having visited both of these places - more than once!...

It's easy to recommend them.

A couple tips...

  • Be sure to leave first thing in the morning, when visiting the Poas Volcano.

The longer you wait to leave, the greater the chance, the crater may be clouded over.

    And also...

  • The drive to Catarata del Toro, can be something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie.

The road thins out in various spots, and visibility can be scarce at times, with all the mist.

    Please be careful!

Having visit both places, it was exciting to write about the experiences - here at ThisisCostaRica.com.
