Catching up with Matt Siegal - one of the minds behind team Envision Presents, he offered an interesting perspective on the festival.

Co-creating events.

An inspiration of the positive collective consciousness.

Envision Festival provides a stage - where in our rapidly changing world...

We can all come together, a betterment for each other, as well as for the planet.

It's a celebration of the spirit. It's a chance for healing - both of body, and of mind...

Envision Festival Totemical

It's a revitalization of the soul.

...

Attending this one-of-a-kind event in person - first-time experience at a an event such as this one...

Was incredible!

Below, please read *and watch* on to learn more, Envision Festival in Uvita Costa Rica...

Uvita, Costa Rica

An event as special as Envision, it's only right - that a backdrop as beautiful as Uvita, becomes its stage.

A glimpse...

Envision Festival Uvita
Marino Ballena National Park - Uvita, Costa Rica

Situated on a remote 7 acres - flanked by the Marino Ballena National Park, a place where humpback whales can be spotted - frolicking about in the Ocean beyond...

It's a venue surrounded by nature -- the perfect spot for Envision, 2012.

There's no shortage of amazing things to see and do.

Transformational Festivals

Quite the interesting video, I recommend you check out this TEDx talk, given by Jeet Kei Leung in Vancouver BC.

A closer insight to transformational festivals like Envision, he discusses - in depth - how the movement exhibits what he calls an ancient - future - culture.

This is Envision Festival!

Well this is it - a recount of a gathering truly one-of-a-kind - in beautiful Uvita, Costa Rica.

Envision Festival with Irish Rose and Hi-C
At the Tea House, with Irish Rose and Hi-C

From concerts and other performances - those like fire dancing, aerial acrobatics, and holistic hooping...

...to a number of different workshops - yoga and reforestation included...

...to visiting some really unique places - the Tea House and Galleria del Corazon, for example...

*and to meeting along the way, so many interesting, passionate and creative people*...

...in words and photograph, here's a firsthand glimpse of the festival as it unfolded - beginning at nightfall, the grouds all lit up...

Envision Festival Lights

...and alive!

And yes - right from the very get-go - the energy was everywhere...

Envision Festival Concerts

At various stages, setup throughout the festival grounds...

Envision Festival Govinda
Govinda and Kaytibunny at Luna Stage

...talented musicians like Govinda, Beats Antique, and others...

...played off, into the night.

Here to the right - multi-instrumentalist and composer, Shane O'Madden (Govinda) is jamming out on his electronic violin.

And right there on Luna stage with him, Kaytibunny - easily one of the best hoopers you'll ever see!...

...was dancing away to the music... spinning upwards of 5 Atomic LED hoops at a time.

Across the way - another lively sight... practitioners of fire dancing, acrobatics, and aerial silk - took to another stage...

Envision Festival Fire

...and yes - WOWing all in attendance.

Something especially cool - the entire area surrounding and connecting both of these stages, was enhanced with some truly far-out structures...

Envision Festival Do Lab
All That's Amazing, by The Do Lab

...the brainchild of an organization called The Do Lab.

No question - we could go on forever about the many amazing things - Envision Festival at night!

Enter daylight...

And it was on to see and learn even more - checking out some of the many engaging workshops underway throughout the grounds.

Jenny Smith - for example, founder and president of Community Carbon Trees Costa Rica held an attention-grabbing workshop: Preserving Our Environment, Communities and Cultures Through Reforestation.

Envision Festival Jenny Smith
With Jenny Smith of Community Carbon Trees

In her talk at the Root Down Earth Altar - a festival creation, brought together by Nate Hogan and Sara Wu...

...she presented on the importance of reforestation and environmental education...

And how getting involved - helping to plant trees in socially responsible ways throughout the country...

...creating multi-level food forests, trapping CO2, conserving existing forests, preserving clean water resources...

Truly make a difference.

Do check out Jenny's website, it's such an important project!

...

Another memorable experience - again at the Root Down Earth Altar - was one that my friend, Terri Zacanti (you can see her below wearing orange) was talking about...

Envision Festival Root Down Earth Altar
Root Down Earth Altar, Intuitive Vocal Toning with Dylan Elmgreen

...an exercise in intuitive vocal toning and sacred geometry - led by spiritual life coach, Dylan Elmgreen.

Resonating with the type of work Terri does back in Montezuma, it was especially fun joining her, Dylan and everyone else involved.

Oh, and have a look at this...

...

More colorful and creative happenings, next - here's a look at the one of the many impressive structures, erected throughout the area...

Envision Festival Yoga
The Bamboo Yoga Temple, by Guildworks

Guildworks for example, made way for some truly interesting yoga classes during the day...

Envision Festival Bamboo Yoga Temple
Beauty from Above...

...sessions held below a beautifully designed, Bamboo Yoga Temple.

And yes - yoga classes just kept getting more interesting.

Envision Festival Mass Ensemble
Mass Ensemble's Earth Harp

As my friend Andrea recounted - gearing up for a month-long teacher training course at Bamboo Yoga Play in Dominical...

On various occasions - sessions would be held in an area - right underneath Mass Ensemble's giant earth harp...

...the largest string instrument on the planet.

Easily one of the most popular attractions at the festival, it was here where Andrea Brooke - one of just three people anywhere, able to play it... led ceremonies at sunset.

Those dancing, sitting - or yes, even practicing yoga near and below the harp's strings..

Envision Festival Sausome
Andrea Brooke, Playing the Earth Harp at Envision

...talked about how they could feel its energy and vibrations, moving right through them. Like sitting - right inside of an acoustic guitar.

...

Something else - off the charts in originality - was something envisioned by Shay Hughes of the Yum Sauce Lounge...

The Tea House.

Constructed from bamboo... at one end, there was a small stage - a place for musicians, poets, speakers and others to perform...

Envision Festival Tea House Music
Musicians Performing at the Tea House

...and at the other - just as its name implies...

Tea!

But that's not all...

Envision Festival Flying Yoga
Flying Yoga! with Whakapaingia and Sara Luke

Whakapaingia and Sara Luke - founders of Koha Yoga really added to the overall Tea House experience...

...offering sessions in Flying Yoga - a unique blend of partner yoga, acrobatics, and partner Thai massage.

What's great - is that both people benefit.

One partner builds strength (the Base), hoisting their partner in the air. And the other (the Flyer) has an entirely different experience - maneuvered above, their spine allowed to open and stretch.

As Whakapaingia, Sara and others describe... it's quite the therapeutic experience!

Envision Festival Doug Rhodes
Doug Rhodes, Inspirational Gallery

...and yes, the festival kept right on going.

A short walk away from the Tea House, and it was over to pay Doug Rhodes a visit...

...creator of the Inspiration Gallery in Santa Teresa.

And just over to the left, Krystalyn - skilled in the art of henna and face painting, and Tocan Mennon - creator of some truly special jewelry...

Envision Festival Krystalyn and Tocan
Krystalyn Formations, and Jewelry by Tocan Mennon

...were busy sharing their craft.

Off again it was - this time (no way, were we ready for this!) to be completely blown away at the Envision Festival Galleria del Corazon (Gallery of the Heart) - beholding some of the most beautiful art ever...

Envision Festival Luke Brown and Justin Guse
Transformational Artwork by Luke Brown (Left) and Justin Guse (Right)

...creations by the likes of Luke Brown (aka Spectral Eyes), Justin Guse (aka Totemical) and others.

Envision Festival Spectral Eyes Totemical
With Luke Brown and Justin Guse

In the image above - you're looking at one of Luke Brown's most popular works on the left...

Alpha Centauri.

And then on the right, one on top of the other - are two of Justin Guse's masterpieces... Discovering Singularity (Top Right), and Phantom Spiritus (Bottom Right).

Catching up with both Luke and Justin, it was incredible to learn *just how much* time, patience, calculation, imagination, and so much more - goes into pieces like these.

Not to mention, each work is a mesh of several different mediums - digital, paint, micron and others.

What an inspiring happening, here at Envision Festival 2012...

...and what an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC experience overall!

Envision Festival Closing Ceremony
Thank You

...

Four days of so many wonderful things taking place - it was all too soon, when the earth harp began sounding, one last time...

...in closing for the second-ever Envision Festival.

Spoken, and in song - Andrea Brooke playing at their side...

Sofiah Thom (Right), Amae Love (Middle), and Shay Hughes (Left) - went on to deliver a final thank you, the sky behind - lit with an assortment of glowing paper lanterns...
